Ballad socks are the sister pattern to the hugely popular Poet Socks.
Designer Sari says the lace pattern in the Poet Socks is "the most beautiful pattern I've ever knitted." The lace in the Ballad Socks is a slightly smaller version of the Poet lace, which gives them a more understated look that can be matched with a variety of outfits.
The knitting method is a standard top-down sock construction. Although the lace pattern looks complicated, you can knit it if you know how to make yarn overs and decreases. It's so much fun to knit the beautifully arranged lace pattern for the socks that you'll find yourself absorbed in it before you know it.
